I replied to one of you a week ago about my store (#1831) closing. I was under the impression that all the fixtures were being divvied up amongst other local Waldenbooks, or at least that's what I was told.
However, I was browsing eBay tonight and came across this:
This is unmistakably my store. I can look at each one of those photos and tell you which section it is in my store. In fact, I can identify the two people standing behind the cashwrap in one photo, and I can also identify the person whose arm is in another photo.
What I want to know is, is this NORMAL? Why were we told everything had been picked over by other managers if it was just going to be sold on eBay?
Color me shocked, angry, confused, and...completely indescribable at this moment.
Finally heard from the SM, she said the fixtures had been sold to another company and so they could do what they wanted with them. She was the one who took the photos, but she didn't know they were going to be put on eBay.
Sounds like mananath had the closest guess.
I still feel violated by all this...my store had so much personal meaning to me, and now it's being disassembled and auctioned off to the highest bidders. Ouch. All the same, if I have the opportunity tomorrow, I want to go see what's left...heck, I may get myself new Waldenfurniture or something.
